1. what was your weirdest dream about?

I don’t really remember most of my dreams, but the most recent one that I do remember is of my high school afrikaans teacher teaching hardcore maths while I made out with the actor who played Merlin in Once Upon A Time. Idk.

2. favorite Harry Potter character?

UUUUHHHH LET ME THI— HERMIONE SUPER-BADASS-BOOKWORM-EXTRAORDINAIRE GRANGER. Oh and Draco Malfoy. Don’t judge me.

3. plays, movies, or tv?

Ah crap. I love all three but I have to be in the proper mood to sit for a play and movie. I have more patience for TV Shows since they’re usually more to-the-point??

“Out of my sight! Thou dost infect my eyes”. Anne was #savage.

5. favorite elementary school gym game?

lol none. I did enjoy dodgeball though.

English, because it’s the one I’m most fluent in. But I love listening to French.

I love the countryside! There’s nothing I want more than a little cottage in the countryside.

My hometown in my homecountry: Subic.

Puns and Euphemisms. 

10. what was the most rule-breaking/forbidden thing you ever did in high school?

Lol, funny story. I skipped class with my bestfriend at the time and naturally we sat in a bathroom stall in the ladies room. She sat against the door, and I was sat behind it. So when the principal walked in to check for rulebreakers, she opened the door to our stall, and because I was behind it, she only saw my friend and I was safely hidden. B)

Why, yes. Yes, she has. 

Hello, everybody! My name is Selina, and this is the lamest attempt at an introduction blog post ever. But it’s my lame attempt at an introduction blog post so I have to love it.

For a long time, I debated what to do for my first post and I really had little to no ideas so I took to the internet and literally googled “first blog post ideas”. I really wish I was kidding. 5 links and a frustrated heavy sigh later, I still had no ideas and so I gave up and now I’m just gonna wing it. 

So. 

About Me

Name: Selina Mae (fun fact: My name was supposed to be spelt Celyna May - bc my mom’s name is joCELYN and also to follow in my half-sisters’ C-names - but my birthdad effed up while filling in my birth certificate so *sigh*)

Birthday/Age: 12 December 1994; turning 22 this year whoo! (i dunno ‘bout you, but i’m feeling twenty twoooo)

Country: I come from the Philippines because both my mom and birthdad are Filipinos, but I’ve lived in South Africa since I was 11 because my stepdad is South African.

Education: I did 2 out of 3 years of BCom Organisational Psychology before I realized it just wasn’t for me so now I’m starting again with a BSc in Computer Science and Information Systems.

note: sometimes in life, things just don’t work out. you realize your true passions in life a little late. And you mess up a lot. And that’s OKAY. this is what i tell myself to be able to sleep at night

another note:  my university only offers Distance Learning. And so that is what I am doing. Studying from home and doing everything by my lonesome. *sigh* So this blog is probably going to be just a mess of my attempts at teaching myself.

Ambitions for the future: So much. First of, I want to succeed in my chosen field/career path. Have a job that I enjoy and makes me feel accomplished and fulfilled everyday. Be well-travelled. And then maybe have a partner that understands my quirks and my passions in life one day.

Introvert or Extrovert? I am an Ambivert. Ambiverts are those who have qualities traditionally associated with being an Introvert and an Extrovert. I have days when I am a typical Introvert, but I have days when I have a need to let loose and be my own version of an extrovert.

Do you believe in yourself? No. But yes. I struggle between optimism and pessimism. My mouth says “I’m an optimist”, but my brain says “nah bruh, don’t lie to yourself, you’re a pessimist”. So it doesn’t matter if I have a high probability of succeeding (which I probs don’t), my brain will always doubt me.

My Fears: contrary to what i tell people (becoming a hobo one day), being financially stable isn’t that important for me. My fear is having unfulfilled dreams and aspirations. My fear is looking back on my life when I’m 80 and realizing that I did not accomplish anything to be proud of. Oh, and cockroaches. I fear those stupid things. It figures that my biggest fear can’t even be killed by radiation. Ugh.

Pet peeves: love triangles, commonly misused/misspelled words or phrases, lack of proper punctuation (aka oxford commas) in textbooks that I have to study from because it makes understanding the material so much harder sometimes, harmful/invasive pranks, internet trolls, people who disturb my quiet and alone time, and countless others. #icanteven 

What I think/do about before bed: “*rolls self up into a blanket burrito* oh god yissssss” then I make up a story in my head (you guessed it, about my otps) and before I even get to halfway of the story, I’m gone. That or I stay up until morning reading fanfics. There is no in between.

First thoughts upon waking up: “i’m gonna go back to sleep” and i often do. That or “ugh why”

Color: turquoise, mintgreen, seafoam green, black, gold, and yellow
Movie: The Sound of Music, Sleepless in Seattle, any movie that has dinosaurs or animals in it.
Show: Once Upon a Time, FRIENDS, Sense8, and countless others.
Book: Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games series, The Percy Jackson series, anything Dan Brown and Lisa Kleypas writes, and waaaay more than I have the time and energy to list out.
Pet/Animal: The whole animal kingdom. Except cockroaches. F*ck cockroaches.
